In the past, this worked fine on another server. We moved the application to a Windows Server 2008 R2 unit running SQL 2008. When I attempt to create the link I https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/532c8124-e28b-48a9-ad46-f88362db1801/error-creating-sql-2008-linked-server-to-pervasive-v11?forum=sqlsetupandupgrade get the following error: 'The linked server has been created but failed a connection test. Do you want to keep the linked server? An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provide "MSDASQL" for linked server "EDMUNDS". ... Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998: Invalid access to memory location. (Pervasive ODBC Interface, C:\Program Files\Pervasive Software\PSQL\bin\odbcci64.dll.)" Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303).' I've based the link server on a System DSN which passes the connection test to the Pervasive database without issue. I have confirmed that the username and password are correct and working. I have also confirmed that Pervasive application is 64-bit as is our SQL server instance. I've done numerous online searches, but I can't find an answer on this one. Any help would be appreciated. The pervasive database uses a 32 bit driver. The database is installed on Server #1.Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. LaserFiche and Workflow is on Server #2 Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit I have tried installing just the 32 bit driver on system error Server#2 however when I try to configure the Data Sources in Workflow Administration Console it appears to be looking for the 64 bit driver. Using Pervasive Control Center I can chose the 32 bit console or 64 bit console if I install the 64 bit driver. When I test the connection using either control panel it says I have a valid driver could not connection and using either control panel I can query valid data. However in Workflow I get the following error message if I use Windows ODBC and select my configured Data Source. ERROR [IM003] Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998: Invalid access to memory location. (Pervasive ODBC Interface, C:\Program Files\Pervasive Software\PSQL\bin\odbcci64.dll). If I try to use direct connections to pervasive it tells me the requested ODBC driver is not installed.[0106-LDP15] Any ideas what this is and how to connect to the database properly. 0 0 Post Link Answer SELECTED ANSWER replied on December 9, 2015 Thanks for pointing me out those articles to me. Neither one worked but were great ideas. The solution turned out to be simple. Restart server after installation of drivers. (Forehead Slap) Everything is working as expected. Now to figure out how to write my scripts to get workflow to get the data I need. 0 0 Post Link Replies Sort by: Most popular Most popular Oldest to newest Newest to oldest replied on December 9, 2015 Mike, unfortunately, this
