I have an Asus Eee pc 901 laptop running on Windows XP. When I power it up I get the following error message popping up: lsass.exe - System Error Insufficent system resources exist to complete the API. The only option available is to click OK, which reboots and ends up back at the same error. I've tried starting in safe mode, but that leads to the same error. Windows XP Professional is the only option available in the "select operating system" screen. I've also tried booting from
safe mode were inaccessible reinstalling windows `over the top` of itself was not an option either as the windows partition was not being recognised which meant

So there is no way to give you a sure solution now, since you don't have the situation anymore. If you can boot into Safe mode (F8 during the boot), restore your system to an earlier system restore point. Then scan your disk using several anti-virus programs. If you can't boot into Safe mode, try to boot into the Last Known Good Configuration (using F8). If that also doesn't work, you should Perform a Repair Installation. EDIT You may
