When using 32-bit ODBC Administrator to create "System DSN", receive error as follows: "The setup routines for the PostgreSQL ANSI ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_access-mso_other/microsoft-access-driver-mdb-accdb-system-error/def76bd8-ffc6-44ec-a3e4-47a839b1314e 126: The specified module could not be found. I have verified the file does exist, by that name, in that location and the registry entries look good (I am not allowed to insert images until my account is "verified"). The ODBC Administrator lists the 32-bit driver (along with all the others) in the Drivers tab. I am successful creating a System DSN if https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/2f9ff7c6-6867-4d08-a2a2-74cba69b18f2/odbc-administrator-32bit-syswow64odbc32adexe-fails-on-system-dsn-add-with-error-code-126?forum=winservercore I choose a different 32-bit driver (e.g. the IBM DB2 driver). Thank you for any direction you can provide. Saturday, April 05, 2014 11:38 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hey Justin. Thank you very much for the followup! I have been trying to insert images to actually "show" you the registry values AND Windows explorer showing the file exists(so you could double check me), but have had no luck - this interface claims I have not "verified my account", 'tho I believe I have done so several times - clearly, I'm missing something. The facts seem to be: 1.>the ODBC Admin displays the driver in its "Drivers" tab, 2.> when I try to "Add" a "System DSN", the ODBC Admin responds with the error I mention above, which explicity identifies the location and file name of the driver it is looking for. The driver file DOES exist in that exact location - I did NOT "move" it there or anything like that, it was placed in the location by the driver installation process. The registry entries seem to be spot on -which also makes

have a legacy application that needs to use 32 ODBC. When I click on any demo System Data Source supplied in the install I get the following error: Microsoft ODBC Administrator The setup routines for the SQL Anywhere 11 ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126: The specified module could not be found. (D:\PROGRA~2\SQLANY~1\BIN32\dbodbc11.dll) It also seems to post a version of this message when I cancel the first but this seems to originate from Driver's ConfigDSN, or ConfigTranslator failed as this the message header. I have verified that this file does exist in the Bin32 directory. I have also verfied that the directory is in the system PATH. I can successfully do this from the 64Bit ODBC administrator however this does me no good. I have successfully started my database using "D:\Program Files\SQL Anywhere 11\Bin32\dbeng11.exe" 32-bit odbc asked 26 Jun '12, 13:09 Joe Snyder 36●1●1●5 accept rate: 0% edited 27 Jun '12, 05:39 Breck Carter 26.3k●414●568●819 do you get the same error when you use c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe to set up the odbc connection. How do you enable short filenames? (27 Jun '12, 09:58) Joe Snyder Replies hidden 1 By default your NTFS drives creates an 8.3 (8-character for the name and 3 for the extension) filename each time a long filename is created. This feature can be disable, to increase disk speed: •Click on Start, type cmd in the Search Bar> right click "Run as admininstrator". •Once the commnand prompt is opened type the command below:
