Office isn't very helpful, it told me to update windows which didn't fix it. Google shows a lot of other people with the same problem, but http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?602559-system-error-amp-H8000FFFF all the responses they get are standard suggestions like updating windows, checking the help files etc. Yahoo answers even suggested updating Acrobat in case the error is caused by trying to save a PDF. The only ellucidation I could find from Google is someone who saw the error from a Powerpoint macro, he deleted an unused UserForm from the project then it let him save the file. My macro/workspace/workbook or whatever it's called only has one userform so that won't work for me. But it implies there's something in the GUI of that userform that's causing the problem- does anyone know what it is? Does anyone know anything about this error? Please help me. Today when I went to view my code it says system error &h80004005 "Project is unviewable" Then it says System Error &h80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified error". I have done some searching, but haven't been able to decipher this error. I have not changed anything on the computer since I last opened this file (yesterday). It just seems that Excel decided to lock my code. The macros seem to work fine from the sheet, I just can't view or edit them anymore. Is there anyway to correct this error? I do have an older version of this file that works fine, but I have made some changes to this version that I will have to recreate. Any ideas? It throws "Microsoft Visual Basic System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259)" error at startup when using McAfee antivirus. The same application works fine with other antivirus. Is there any security option in McAfee to block VBA and excel4 macros? Please let me know do we have any option to block macros through McAfee settings? Re: Microsoft Visual Basic System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259) with McAfee antivirus Dinz Feb 22, 2011 3:03 PM (in response to sanpal) Hi San,Probably if the programs is not granted an access under the firewall section , we might see issues starting it up just that McAfee doesn't want any unknow programs to do a automatic start without the user knowledge. Please check the following within McAfee security center ; Double-click the M icon in your taskbar. Select the Web and Email Protection drawer. Click the Firewall Link. Select the Program Permissions drawer. Scroll to the bottom and click the Add button Click Browse and locate the file you want to add. Click the application to highlight it and select Open. Set the access type you want using the provided options in the Access drop down menu. Click Save. Close SecurityCenter. If the above doesnt fix the issue, Please let us know; What is the name of the software ? probably with version no. What operating system ?At present do you use any other security software ?Version of your Virus scan Regards, Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. My application has nothing to do with internet or firewall. It is a simple desktop appliaction created using excel 2003 works in Windows XP. Since i am getting this system error, i guess there might be some setting in Mcafee antivirus that probably blocks my excel4 macros. Do McAfee provide any such option ?
