Ntvdm System Error Windows 10
Members 92 posts Posted 05 October 2009 - 07:15 PM Hi, Got malwared last night and I've spent most of today getting rid of it. I used Malwarebytes Anti, ATF http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/windows-10-32bit-x86-ntvdm-has-encountered-a/790265e8-5826-4f97-9ec3-ae057f06c976?auth=1 Cleaner, and SuperANTISpyware. It "appears" to be gone but I'm still stuck with this NTVDM message that pops up whenever I log on. It says "NTVDM has encountered a System Error c0h Choose 'Close' to terminate the application". Most of the time, when I hit close, it appears again almost immediately, occasionally more than twice. This sometimes causes my system https://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?/topic/173164-ntvdm-has-encountered-a-system-error-16-bit-ms-dos-subsystem to freeze. And when it doesn't freeze, I still have the problem of the 'System Idle Process' in my Task Manager (process tab) unable to stop. Thus I constantly hear that "crunching" sound in my system. And this, I think, is causing my system to run a lot slower. Reminds me of the old 98 SE days. Actually, I'm finding that the "crunching" stops after about 20 minutes. All I need is to fix this error and stop that message from appearing, putting hopefully everything back to normal. I'm trying to avoid doing a fresh install of XP. Backing up stuff won't be fun with this error I got. Ideas? Thanks. error began occurring from the DOS prompt. All programs such as EDIT, PKZIP, and other old-style programs that used to run in DOS on XP suddenly will not run. Has anyone else experienced this error, and if so, how did you fix the problem? Thanks. I have followed the steps, and checked the files, including config.nt and autoexec.nt . However, nothing out of place.
