But the sqlplus screen does not appear. 3) Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools-> Data Sources Here, i try to add DataSource under User DSN or specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 invalid access to memory location for that matter to any other DSN. I get the following error: Quote: "The setup routines for the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle ODBC Driver could not be loaded due to system error code 998" I would like to know if there is any problem with the ODBC Driver. The system was fine till yesterday. The problem is only after we restarted the server today morning. Is there something unique about this Windows machine? I've seen that error once before on a system that had a program called Ceedo (Not sure what it was for). A few questions:- Is the http://cs.pervasive.com/forums/p/12428/42552.aspx 998 coming from your application or the ODBC Data Source Administrator?- Are you logged in locally or is this a remote desktop / Terminal Server session?- Are you logged in as a local Administrator? - What are the registry permissions on the HKLM\Software\ODBC keys? - Is the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\Pervasive ODBC Engine Interface\Driver pointing to the correct location? 12-11-2009 10:46 PM In reply to BJenkins Joined on 05-14-2008 Posts 16 Re: Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Pervasive ODBC Client Interface Reply Contact Thanks for the quick reply. To answer your questions: -ODBC Data Source Administrator -I get the same error via RDP and Citrix Session (All user sessions will be via Citrix) -Yes Full Admin and also tried Power User -Not sure what you mean on this one. I can find the ODBC key but nothing in it relating to Permissions -c:\program files\pervasive software\psql\bin\w3odbcci.dll which is correct 12-12-2009 10:09 AM In reply to Mirtheil Joined on 07-09-2007 Posts 4,733 Re: Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Pervasive ODBC Client Interface Reply Contact Have you tried physically at the server? If an Administrator account installs the software, make sure that 998 invalid access the appropriate file system permissions are granted.
