Access is denied orafad Apr 13, 2011 9:09 PM (in response to 841199) The start menu option "Start database" is really a call to StartDB.bat (in bin directory). On win 7 (and others), this needs to be run under a elevated privs command prompt. You could right click and Run as administrator or open a command prompt in this way (run as..) and just call startdb bat file. This is a known issue, per [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17781_01/doc.112/e21743/toc.htm#CIABHHDG]Readme, 2.2.3. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: System error 5 has occurred. With UAC enabled, you need to launch cmd window from Start, Programs, Accessories. This will prompt for the uac to allow it. Otherwise you are not running cmd.exe with admin rights. 0 #3 crybaby Posted 12 June 2009 - 11:25 AM crybaby Member Topic Starter Member 175 posts Thanks for getting back to me!
