System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/285472 Catastrophic failure." I tried re-starting Powerpoint it still didn't worked. I get the same error message. I am using Office 2000. I understand this problem also happens in excel and word. You've received some suggestions in the PPT group for troubleshooting. Like MVP Steve Rindsberg there, I'd suspect a faulty add-in. Adobe PDF Writer has been implicated in this error in the past -- do you have the Acrobat PPT or Office add-in(s) installed? If I were you, I'd close PPT, search for all *.PPA files (these are PPT add-ins), rename them to *.OLD, and see if PPT works better. If it does, close PPT and rename the *.OLD files back to *.PPA one at a time until you isolate the problem add-in.
