only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hi Everyone First time poster so be gentle! ;-) I'm having domain wide issues with clients not being able to print due to print spooler sub system errors on start up. When I try to manually start the spooler it starts for a second and then stops. if i try through a command prompt I get "System error 5 has occurred Access denied" Our print server is WS2K3, I'm in the process of building a 2012 print server to replace it. I have trawled the forums and tried the following: - after giving "everyone" access to the directory I delete files in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\printers & \drivers folders and tried to install network printers. - repairing the windows install Initially this issue affected everyone but Win xp users seem to have recovered. WIn7 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/manual-starting-of-print-spooler-service-creates/9f393c7a-9c52-4464-9188-22834d6f626f users still have the issue. cheers Brad Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Daily Print Spooler Error Print Spooler Madness Print Spooler Problem Turning Pandemic   15 Replies Chipotle OP AkDonKeys Mar 4, 2014 at 1:15 UTC Did you load the win 7 drivers to the print server for each printer? Stringham Mar 4, 2014 at 1:21 UTC Or have scheduled updates set to run on your machines? 1 Mace OP Rockn Mar 4, 2014 at 1:29 UTC If they are set up to use a print server I am not sure why they would be having local spooler issues as print obs should be spooled on the server itself. Are these universal print drivers per chance? Check the print spooler on the server as well as the folder spool\printers on the server to see if it is empty and if the spooler is stopped. Have any printers been deleted recently? 1 Pimiento OP Brad9917 Mar 4, 2014 at 1:29 UTC We have WSUS but it's not currently working. Our machines are getting their updates from the net at present which isn't ideal. 0 Pimient
