remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found." The packages are all there in the filesystem and the feed itself sees all the packages appropriately. I can even browse the package directly! What am I missing? I did just upgrade from NuGet server 1.4 to 1.5, but I've seen this happen before. Touching the package files used to help, but that does not appear to be the case now. EDIT: Actually, I hadn't seen that exact error before...I've seen this one, intermittently, that touching the package tended to fix. nuget nuget-package nuget-server share|improve this question edited Sep 16 '11 at 2:46 asked Sep 13 '11 at 20:07 Brandon Linton 2,81332656 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted sigh... http://blogs.thesitedoctor.co.uk/tim/2011/09/02/Nuget+Server+On+IIS6+Returns+404+When+Downloading+Package+After+Upgrade.aspx EDIT: In case the link ever dies...I am hosting my NuGet server in IIS6, which wasn't set up to properly handle extensionless URLs. If I use the NPM UI I get The remote server returned an error: (504) Gateway Timeout. If I use the PM Console with Install-Package Ninject.MVC5 I get : The http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28288328/nuget-the-remote-server-returned-an-error-504-gateway-timeout source at nuget.org [https://www.nuget.org/api/v2/] is unreachable. Falling back to NuGet Local Cache at {userfolder}\AppData\Local\NuGet\Cache Install-Package : Unable to find package 'Ninject.MVC5'. If I type: Install-Package Ninject.MVC5 -source nuget.org i get the same UI error : Install-Package : The remote server returned an error: (504) Gateway Timeout. I tryied this from other sources that points to solution but none worked. I see a similar problem on nuget but a code 'fix' was release according to the github repo on January, 15. I'm not sure if this is on my end or a nuget server problem, tryied to reach them at twitter with no response still, don't know what else to try. visual-studio-2013 nuget visual-studio-2015 share|improve this question edited Feb 3 '15 at 21:00 jussi.mattila 157111 asked Feb 2 '15 at 22:50 Bart Calixto 8,17244184 2 Having the same problem over here on 2 different computers, both running vs2103. since yesterday. –eatfrog Feb 3 '15 at 8:55 1 Same problem with visual studio 2013 here. The URL is http://serverName/MsDeployAgentService But when I use Import Application from IIS Manager to deploy web app remotely as non-admin user, I get the following error: The package installation failed. Details: Could not connect to the destination computer ("serverName"). On the destination the remote server computer, make sure that Web Deploy is installed and that the required process ("The Web Management Service") is started. The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. I did "net start wmsvc" and "net start msdepsvc" on the server but that didn't help. The server has Web Deploy v2 with "complete" installation option and has no customized service URL. Obviously, the error message says server is not found, but why? More background info on the server. You can deploy successfully with admin user because this user has the highest administrator privileges. It "by-passes" all the authentication and authorization checks on the server. When you deploy with a non-admin user, this user does not have the administrator privileges and this is why, weird errors start to pop out. Please refer to the article at http://www.iis.net/learn/publish/using-web-deploy/configure-the-web-deployment-handler, especially on "Part
