This made me revisit some of my learnings again. As part of this exercise, I learnt a minute or two which I personally felt was worth a share as part of this blog post. It makes sense because it took 3 days for you to move file. So any chance someone took transaction log backup after what you moved to Azure. You need to restore all log backups taken after full backupCheers, Shashank Please mark this reply as answer if it solved your issue or vote as helpful if it helped so that other forum members can benefit from it My TechNet Wiki Articles MVP

(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 1412) An error occurred while starting mirroring. Alter failed for Database 'XXXXX'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo) The remote http://sqldbatask.blogspot.com/2013/01/sql2008r2-error-remote-copy-of-database_26.html copy of database "XXXXX" has not been rolled forward to a point in time http://sqlpost.blogspot.com/2009/06/sql-server-database-mirroring-error.html that is encompassed in the local copy of the database log. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 1412) Solution: Log backup is not close enough to the mirror server database log. So restore is getting failing in the database mirroring session initiation. Take latest principal database full and log backup with NO RECOVERY mode and the remote copy the backups to the mirror server to restore it by the below order. Restore the full backup with no recovery mode. Then Restore the log backup with no recovery mode. Then start your database mirroring session. If you are trying to restore the log backup before full backup, you will get the below error. So the order of backup in the restore is very important. the remote copy Full backup first and then Log backup to restore. Thank youReplyDeleteAnonymousJuly 10, 2015 at 11:07 AMThis did not work for me. I've restored from Full backup first and then restored from t-log the results being the error. I have created a principle backup several times and restored to the mirror with the same error each time.ReplyDeleteAdd commentLoad more... de junio de 2009 / Etiquetas: Database Mirroring, High Availability, SQL Errors, SQL SERVER Problem. When a database mirroring is configured, some error messages are not completely clear when we got it. The following errors are typical while a database mirroring configuration is performed: Database Mirroring cannot be enabled because the database may have bulk logged changes that have not been backed up. The last log backup on the principal must be restored on the mirror. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error 1475) The mirror database has insufficient transaction log data to preserve the log backup chain of the principal database. This may happen if a log backup from the principal database has not been restored on the mirror database. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error 1478) The remote copy of database has not been rolled forwarded to a point in time that is encompassed in the local copy of the transactional log. . (Microsoft SQL Server, Error 1412) I got the error mentioned above when I try to start the synchronization for database mirroring. Solution / Fix / Workaround. To start the synchronization successfully follow the next steps: 1. Principal Instance - Take a full backup and a log backup as well 2. Copy the full/log backups from Principal Instance to Mirror instance 3. Mirror Instance - Restore with NORECOVERY option the full backup 4. Mirror Instance - Apply the log backup 5. Principal Instance - Start synchronization Enjoy!! 2 comentarios: Rafa dijo... ja that's how usually made mirroring but still doesn't works and it's the only database that send me this error The remote copy of database has not been rolled forwarded to a point in time that is encompassed in the local copy of the transactional log. .
