The machine runs on Windows 7 64 bit.I recently had to install optical flares after effects videocopilots Optical Flares. Everything runs fine on my admin account but if i open AE on a user account i get an error message while on the loading screen. It says:After Effects error: Creating a resource file "c:insert path to OpticalFlares.aex here" (might be a bit different in english as i translated this from german)Every user has full read and write permission on the AE support files folder. Re: After Effects error: Creating a resource file Mylenium Mar 1, 2011 10:18 AM (in response to M.Rueb) I suggest you provide the error code in its full German beauty along with any number pair it may show. This would help to find out if thise a mundane permissions issue (usually 3 :: xx generic file I/O errors) or a deeper potential issue with OF running on your system (internal plug-in errors have otehr numbers). In any case, investigating the permissions issue is the first thing to do. This could well be the plug-in not being able to save its prefs and workspace layout preset file.Beste GrüßeMylenium Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. FAQ • VIEW ALL • PRINT • NEXT >> • AE won't recognize .aex files! by Reuben Lemer on May 10, 2008 at 8:59:32 am Hi, I'm trying to install a few plug-ins, and most of them are easy video copilot to install and work fine (those are ones that end in .ffx) but there are a few I really want which are .aex files instead. I've tried opening them in ae, I've tried opening ae with them in the plug-ins folder and also the presets folder. But it wont work! All I get is this error message; After Effects error: opening resource file "Twitch.aex" -- unexpected end-of-file (-39). ( 3 :: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/798133 54 ) Can anyone help me??? Thanks, ReubenReturn to posts indexReport Post•Re: AE won't recognize .aex files!by Andrew Kramer on May 10, 2008 at 9:54:12 amBasically, plug-ins for Intel Macs on OS X need to be published specifically to be compatible since the old system was passed up for the FX plug architecture. Some developers have updated their plug-ins and some have not. There is nothing you can do to make them compatible except get a old power mac.http://www.VideoCopilot.net Tools for Video Professionals Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: AE won't recognize .aex files!by Reuben Lemer on May 10, 2008 at 10:15:51 amAh... Well I'm using a ppc at the moment, I'm striving to get an Intel because then I can get a PC emulator and not need to worry about all this. Is there a way of getting .aex filed to open then on a power mac?
