After Effects CS4 keeps crapping out on me, and won't allow me to render my projects. I keep getting the message, "After Effects Error: Keylight out of memory (4)"I'm running a brand new IMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core I7 (which I understand gives me virtually 8 cores), and I have 8 GB of Ram. I've tried with multi-frame processing enabled, and dissabled and keylight after effects cs4 the same thing. When I tried with the mulit-frame enabled I selected allow 4 CPU's Free and allow 6CPU's free, and still the same results. Any help would be greatly apprecicated. Thanks! However, when I select all 10 and hit render, after two or three get rendered I get a keylight out of memory error and AE crashes. I am a newbie https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/929473 to AE. You need to use them to purge your RAM, since you have so little. Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: Keylight out of memory errorby Mark Longchamps on Mar 6, 2008 at 8:03:11 pmAHHH that is better! What can I do about these crashes? FAQ about rendering in AE. Trouble rendering. Advice. There is a lot you can do to stop After Effects from keylight after effects crashing. After Effects uses a lot of RAM to render. If you use AE you may want to consider buying more RAM. It is the most cost effective upgrade you can do to rule out rendering issues. A gamer's GPU (graphics card) is also worth considering. If you want to make the investment, a Quadro GPU makes AE work very well. Go to edit, Memory and Multiprocessing, enable multiprocessing. Go to Edit, Media and Disc, enable disc catching. Render as TIFF sequences. This will greatly reduce the chance that renders will crash and if it does crash you can always start a new render where the last one left off and you won't loose your work.Rule out crashes during render.
