Re: After Effects error: Quicktime export failed - Out of memory (-108) Mylenium Sep 20, 2011 10:37 AM (in response to Bedollao) Sounds like one of those many "old version of AE on new hardware" issues... You may need to fiddle with Rosetta or install it in teh first place, if you haven't already and you may also require a specific older version of Quicktime...Mylenium Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. I have version 10.5.2. Every time I try exporting to a quicktime a couple things happen mid export. Either the entire program quits (I don't even get the message "This program has unexpectedly quit.." or I get the following error messages. "After effects error: could not create 720 x 486 image buffer" followed by a second error message "After effects error: quicktime export failed - out of memory (-108)" Anybody knows what's going on here? Thanks. -Joel Reply Quote Re: After Effects Error Messages 8 years, 5 months ago #18607 Duane_Martin OFFLINE Executive Producer Posts: 5513 Karma: 9 Adobe After Effects 7 is not fully supported on the Intel based Mac Pro; i.e. it is not an universal application so it has to run under Rosetta. With only 1GB of RAM that may well be the problem. Solutions offered I have found by Googling the subject (there is a ton of info on the net) include making sure you have no other Rosetta apps (non-universal) running, adding RAM, and upgrading to the latest version of AE. You may also be experiencing a QuickTime compatibility error depending on what version of QT you are running. Google whether the version you are using is compatible with AE 7. Please understand I am at NAB this week so my response time will be delayed. Duane E. Martin Earth to Sky Pictures Inc. Apple Certified Trainer - Final Cut Pro Copyright - all rights reserved. The thing I don't understand about not having enough RAM, is that this program has been working perfectly on this computer for months... The RAM amount wasn't an issue before, can it be now? A 720x486 image buffer isn't that large, so if that's putting it over the top on memory then either your project is huge, or something else is wrong. You could use Activity Monitor to see what's happening with the memory. DVShade - Color Grading and Live Action to Cartoon Plugins for FCP/M
