Todd_Kopriva May 29, 2011 12:46 PM (in unable to create image buffer after effects response to lir998) 40,000 pixels by 40,000 pixels is a giant frame, even for a computer with a lot of RAM---and your computer has a tiny amount of RAM for using Ater Effects. What are you doing that is generating such large image information? Describe your composition. What are your composition settings? What effects are you using at the problematic point? What kinds of source footage? Also, you really need to provide more general information when asking questions. What operating system? What version of After Effects? Like Show 1 Likes(1) Actions 2. Re: Invalid image buffer size question. lir998 May 29, 2011 1:00 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva) Thank you for replying, I was getting worried that no one would answer anyway, what I'm trying to do right now is optical flare text and then fade it out through stretching it. However since I dont have the optical flare effect on my computer, my friend rendered a large and small mov for me to use.Operating system: MacComposition setting - 1280px width, 720px heightPixel Aspect Ratio: Square PixelsFrame Rate: 25Resolution: FullDuration: 55 secI am also using some footages in the background that are all in mp4 format. Each of them are no longer then 1 minute.*I am also using After Effect CS5* Like Show 0 Likes(0)

When trying to render in full resolution https://forums.adobe.com/thread/858212 I'm getting this error message: "After Effects error. Image buffer of size 30000x30000 @ 8bpc (3,4 GB) exceed internal limits. Decrease memory requirements for the rendering of this frame." Now I'm working on a sixcore system with 24 GB of RAM. When rendering in half resolution my machine takes about 8 Minutes. But as soon as I try rendering at full https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/1007087 Res, i get this error message. Does this mean 24 GB Ram is not enough for rendering this particular project and will i'll be able to if upgrading to 48 GB ? Sorry for my english (i'm german speaking) and thanks in advance!Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: High resolution Animation - Image buffer Errorby Todd Kopriva on Sep 18, 2011 at 11:26:36 pm> Does this mean 24 GB Ram is not enough for rendering this particular project and will i'll be able to if upgrading to 48 GB ? No. This message is telling you that the amount of RAM required for a single image buffer is 3.4GB, which is larger than the 2GB limit. Something in your composition is causing After Effects to need to process a single image that is 30,000x30,000 pixels. If your images are only ~7,000x8,000, the extra large size of buffer needed could be caused by certain effects, large input images, or combinations of 3D elements. It's hard to give specific advice without knowing a lot more about your project. In general, my advice is to
