We do not have exchange on this server or sql server . I am trying to run a full backup on the server to LTO4 tapes. This error conditions persists whether I try running a full backup of the server or a drive or a few directories. I https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/25125085/Backup-Exec-fails-with-error-E00084AF.html have removed and re-installed backup exec. I have removed all tape library drivers and tested it using A) symantec drivers and B) the manufacturer's drivers.....error condition persists. We have a Windows Server 2003 R2 (64 Bit) Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 is installed on the server. Dell Md3000 disk array attached to the server PowerVault TL4000 tape library (LTO4 and 48 slots) All backups fail with error code E00084Af Error category : Job ErrorsError : e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed. Solved Backup Exec 2010 error e00084af during System State backup Posted on 2010-03-24 Storage Software SBS 1 Verified Solution 14 Comments 3,879 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-01 We have recently updated our own backup exec Backup Exec installation to 2010. The update process was to uninstall v10D and then install Backup Exec 2010 afresh. The same user credentials are being used for the backup jobs and all but the System State is being backed up successfully. When backing up the System State the job always gets an error: "e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed." All three possibilities backup exec 2012 in http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/326836.htm have been ruled out. The System State obviously exists on the server & is not a "missing directory." The credentials in use are correct (they're being used for the rest of the backup & working) and the system state backup does not work if the user credentials are removed either. TCP Port 10,000 is definitely being listened to by beremote.exe (confirmed via "netstat -ano" and task manager with PID column). 0 Question by:Barthax Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 19 Best Solution byBarthax I can't explain it. Both accounts seem to be inheriting the same set of options regarding logging in locally via the local Administrators group and Backup Operators.
