2010 R3. Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2. I Changed the login account for my Backup Exec services. There are a total of seven (7) services that show up for Backup Exec when I run services.msc. All of the services have a startup type of "Automatic," with the exception of Backup Exec Management Service which is set to manual. After a reboot, only "Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems" and "Backup Exec Error Recording Service" show as started. However, if I select any of the other services and choose to start them up, they start up without a problem. So it does not appear to be the credentials of the login account. What might be causing these services to not start up after reboot, even though they are set to "Automatic" for startup type and have apparently valid credentials? Solved! Go to Solution. I have 6 USB Drives that get rotaed ton the backup exec error server every week. My issue is: when the backup jobs start to run, the storage shows as offline and the only way to force it online is to restart the Backup Exec services. Once I do this (before the jobs run), the backups work fine. What I want to do is create a batch script and schedule to run automatically before the next backup job runs. So it will restart the services without me doing anything. The batch script works but i'm stuck with that yes or no question... I looked through multiple forums and tried multiple commands but none answer the question. What I have scripted: net stop bedbg && net start bedbg net start BackupExecAgentBrowser net start BackupExecDeviceMediaService net start BackupExecJobEngine net start BackupExecManagementService net start BackupExecAgentAccelerator net start BackupExecRPCService Output: C:\Users\sysadmin\Desktop>net stop bedbg && net start bedbg The following services are dependent on the Backup Exec Error Recording Service service. Stopping the Backup Exec Error Recording Service service will also stop t

Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. and in the Windows Event Log (Application): The Backup Exec Server Service did not start. An internal error (-22) occurred in object 11. my experience has shown two causes of this: Symantec's "Live Update" is stuck on SOLUTION: look in Task Manager for LUGETUPDATES.EXE on the Processes tab and END TASK on it Some software is using Backup Exec's default port of 3527 SOLUTION: in a command line run NETSTAT -B > C:\LOG.TXT and then search that log for 3527 to find out what software is using it You might find these articles also of use: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH140394&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1332225047506 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH69603&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1332225442568 Share This With Your Friends Now: Related Tags: 2010, 2012, An internal error (-22) occurred in object 11, unable to start backup exec server service Leave a Reply Click here to cancel reply.
