Now the job will not run and nothing has changed including no windows updates. I am using Backup Exec 9.1 With all the latest updates and patches on a Windows Server 2003. I only backup files and folders on the local system, no remote directorys.Since problem started I have done the following changes, 1 per day with no changes working as of yet. I have deleted the original job and created a new job, updated the firmware for the DAT72 drive being used, switched from the seagate drivers to the Veritas drivers (unwillingly), unchecked "Delete tape after complete", unchecked "Stop backup if not complete within X hours", Ran check disk and defraged the hard drive. The error message received at the end of each log is:The media operation was terminated by the user.Error reading file data.Error reading file data. The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Please check for network errors.A timeout occurred waiting for completion of media server data processingBackup completed on 9/14/2006 at 2:18:06 AM.Backed up 37749 files in 11235 directories.Processed 32,425,160,928 bytes in 5 hours, 17 minutes, and 42 seconds.Throughput rate: 97.3 MB/min----------------------------------------------------------------------I have searched the web and this forum and found several other people have had the same problem but have not found a solution.Any help would be great! Thanks,Ron Labels: 10.x and Earlier Backup and Recovery Backup Exec 0 Kudos Reply 8

TigerDivision (MIS) (OP) 10 Mar 04 03:15 Hi!Last Monday I upgraded our Backup Exec 9.0 installation to version 9.1 This installation is running under Windows 2000 Server (SP4). The backup of yesterday ran well. But this morning I came in to find that it was still running after 7 hours and it wasn't backing up anything! It was trying to backup the local server on which Backup Exec is installed. This never occurred before under 9.0.
