Solved Selection List is empty in new/clean install of BE 12 in Win 2008 Posted on 2008-06-26 Storage Software 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 3,189 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-01 Big picture: Running Windows 2008 Ent with 4 Windows 2008 Ent VMs, one of the VMs has Exchange 2007 backup exec a and Backup Exec 12 (eval) installed. The host OS and VMs were installed on a new server less 45 days ago. Problem: From the moment I installed BE 12 on the Win 2008 server the Selection List only shows "All Resources" when I create a new backup job. I tried right-click "All Resources" and clicking all of the options. Clicking "Manage Active Directory Domains" or "Manage User-defined Options" the dialog box appears and then BE crashes when I click any of the buttons in that diaglog box. Multiple errors appear that all look similar to this: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A severe application error has occurred. Exception: System.AccessViolationException Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
