I have already read other postings, etc. They talk about backing up to tape drives, etc. I got this error message if I run "Backup to Disk". Backup is done by Backup Agent installed on a File Server in LAN. Any ideas? If the backup job is doing a estimate of the data that needs to be backed up and by the time the backup finishes it would find the data backed up to be different from the time it did a file a file estimate. And that is normal. You can disable the file estimation which would go ahead simply backup the files and this would also reduce your backup window. bhanu 0 LVL 23 Overall: Level 23 Storage Software 12 Message Expert Comment by:bhanukir72007-12-19 Hi, Do you have any verification in the job then this article from backup exec would help you understand it better. http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/267554.htm This rather refers to the errors for the CRC checks bhanu 0 LVL 2 Overall: Level 2 Message Assisted Solution by:chipsexpert2007-12-20 We encountered this problem before and performed a disk defragment on the machin

If i run the job again it usually completes successfully. However from most of the solutions its usually a bad tape or change in a file. But the error is thrown for difference in the system state of the servers it backups. And our jobs are not backing up to tape they backup to folder. Any suggestions on how to get this job to run successful every night without getting this error message. Error Message: Verify- \\SERVER\System?State \\SERVER\System?StateDifference encountered in file data. The file System Files\System Files is different. Difference encountered in file data. Check the modified timestamp on the data to see if it is during your backup window. 0 LVL 2 Overall: Level 2 Message Author Comment by:chipsexpert2007-07-20 Backup seems to be running find now after the exclusion of one of the systems.
