Problem Backup job fails with error "Error e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed". Job log shows that the directory iterating is "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Application Data". Error Message Error e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed The job log reveals that the 'C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Application Data' - file folder will be iterating as below: Cause The folder 'C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Application Data' is a Junction Point set in Windows 2008 to enable backward compatibility for software built for Windows 2003/2000 Server. The path will redirect itself to the same path again. Solution Open the Backup Job Properties Select Advanced (Below the left panel title 'Settings') Deactivate/uncheck the following two options: - Back up files and directories by following junction points- Back up files and directories by following symbolic links (unchecked by default) Applies ToWindows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2 Server Terms of use for this information are found in Legal Notices.

I am trying to run a full backup on the server to LTO4 tapes. This error conditions persists whether I try running a full backup of the server or a drive or a few directories. I have removed and re-installed backup exec. I have removed all tape library drivers and tested it using A) symantec drivers and B) the manufacturer's drivers.....error condition persists.
