I found out that the service account for backup exec (v9.0) did not have write permissions to the folder it was restoring to. I ran "file redirection" and pointed it elsewhere, and the restore was completed successfully. x 11 Ryan Saralampi I got this error because the remote agent service for Backup Exec had stopped. x 17 Rich Stringer This error could also be generated when the backup device, in this case, a tape drive, has no more available space. x 9 Private comment: Subscribers only. My backup server is showing this event id. More details are as follows Backup Server: Win Server 2008 R2 64bit What we are backing up: Exchange Databases Exchange Server 2010 Exchange Windows: Win Server 2008 64 bit (Not R2) DAG: Yes (but recently installed backup jobs were failing before that as well when we were running single mailbox server) Did backup job ever ran: Yes they were running fine for almost 11 months. I have seen one forum which says to install a HotFix 139875_ENU_ia64_zip but it seems its only for win server 2003. Any help will be highly appreciated. I anyone need any more information do let me know. Please work with Symantec to solve this problem.
