IN THIS DISCUSSION Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hi, I am receiving this error every night now and I didn't used to: "The job was canceled because the response to a media request alert was Cancel, or because the alert was configured to automatically respond with Cancel, or because the Backup Exec Job Engine service was stopped". Error code: v-79-57344-33861. I have read tons of google sites and have not found any solutions. I am unaware of any service and or schedualed task that would interfeare with this backup. I can tell you that the backup does in fact restore files and data with no problems and I am afraid I could be missing part of my backup. Any Backup Exec users out there? I am using exec 11d Windows 2003 R2 **Edit** I noticed in the error log I got this message: Backup- \\mailserver.domain\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group Media mount failed. User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation. V-79-57344-33861 - The media operation was terminated by the user. Failing that I'd check your configuration and see if the alert is set to automatically cancel the job. From what I see it doesn't look like you're getting full backups (based on what little we have from your console...) 1 Mace OP Denis Kelley Jan 23, 2012 at 2:18 UTC I had something similar last week. Not exactly the same problem, but with a note that job was cancelled by user. This turned out to be a timeout issue. My backup looked fine, but timed out during the verify procedure. Verify was running at 1MB/sec. What I did to correct this was to update BE fully. It was running just fine, then not. Anyhoo. Are you backing up to tape or disk? If tape, are you spanning tapes? 1 Thai Pepper OP Gregmfg Jan 23, 2012 at 2:19 UTC change the auto response to either a longer time or until you actually select what to do. Look under the alerts tab and look for an alert that matches the time of the error. Check exchange for any errors in the event viewer. 1 Poblano OP Telex Jan 23, 2
