REV 4691. I have been running the same job for a while now and it has always been fine. Recently we have had the 2 'ROOT' servers in the domain https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/Back-up-Exec-9-1-Error-reading-file-data/td-p/34471 upgraded to Windows 2003. about 1 week after the back ups were starting to take longer. Now everyday for the past week i have arrived to find the job seems to be getting stuck. Before the problem the job would take about 7 hours for about 390 GB now it is getting stuck at about 280 GB in 12-13 hours and won't go any further. I end up having to cancel the job. I get an error in the the job log that just says 'Error reading file data.' but gives no indication as to which file or anything, which is making it very hard for me to fix as there is only 1 technical support note from Veritas which advises to enable the automatic cancelation feature. This doesn't help as it is not fixing the problem. The job log isn't giving me any indication what file is causing the problem.Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks Rob. TigerDivision (MIS) (OP) 10 Mar 04 03:15 Hi!Last Monday I upgraded our Backup Exec 9.0 installation to version 9.1 This installation is running under Windows 2000 Server (SP4). The backup of yesterday ran well. But this morning I came in to find that it was still running after 7 hours and it wasn't backing up anything! It was trying to backup the local server on which Backup Exec is installed. This never occurred before under 9.0. I had other issues namely timeout issues which I don't think might have been solved under 9.1 either. Anyway I cancelled the job and saw in the log the following entry:The media operation was terminated by the user.Error reading file dataI tried searching the Veritas support site and found nothing. Has anyone experienced this before? I would appreciate your help since Veritas Support are not responding to my e-mails!Th
