I just tried to create a new backup job using the wizard. After I got through all of the steps and hit https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/Unable-to-create-selection-list/td-p/348064 finish I get an error that reads "Unable to create selections list". I was reading through some older forums and ran the BEUtility.exe and did a database consistency check which can back fine. I also ran a restore job which did complete. I am curious to see what happens when my scheduled incrementals run tonight. Not sure what else to do. Solved! Go to Solution. This morning when attempting to restore data from an Ultrium 3 tape, I got the message "Unable to create selection list". I assumed that the catalogue might have become corrupted, and ran a Catalog job, but this has not helped. Ihave done a little bit of searching, and one article warned that this problem could be the result of a lack of space on the media server. This isn't the case here. Ihave succeeded in restoring other files from thisthis tape, so presumably there is something odd about the directory in question? Many thanks for any suggestions.
