Solved Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R2 - Remote Windows Agent Hangs On Install Posted on 2011-02-24 Storage Software Windows Server backup exec 2003 2 Verified Solutions 7 Comments 4,996 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-11 I am trying to install the Windows Remote Agent to a Windows 2003 server and it will not install. I have tried to do a push install and it hangs at 50% trying to start the install on the remote server (Loading the install. Please wait...). This will sit there indefinitely until I go into the failed with error task manager and end task on the _setup.exe (I also have to kill this on the remote server as well, so I know that it is at least trying to start the setup). I have also tried copying the RAWS32 folder from the console server and running the setup from there. It gets to the point that it should start the install process, but the indicator bars never move and i have tried leaving this alone to run for at least 2 hours. I have tried running this as the administrator as well as my normal log on account, both of which are domain admin accounts. BTW, the server is fully patched, the MS-Installer is newly patched at v4.5, I have Symantec Endpoint Protection (latest and greatest and fully patched) installed and I have tried stopping it. Below is the install log entry for the latest install try. One thing I did notice is that there is no 13b3b9.msi file in c:\windows\installer as referenced in the log below - I guess that could be the reason but i am at a loss as to where that file comes from or could be located at. i have searc
