All was fine untill the Daylight Savings event which happened in March 09 Since then we have had missed backups at weekends. We have https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/Backup-exec-12-Missed-Backup-up-error-e000e020/td-p/232429 2 scheduled tasks to run in Backup Exec The first is a daily backup which runs Monday > Thursday - These backups areok and show in the History as being complete the odd errors with people leaving there email logged in etc, but mainly ok The second is a Weekend backup which runs on a Saturaday when all the staff are out of the building. One of our sites has not had a weekend backup since the Time change. The backup is set to run between 18:00 > 07:00 and is set to cancell if not complete within 10 Hours. However the History of the job which was set to run on Saturday 25th April shows the following Original Start Time 25th April 2009 19:00:00 Job Started 25th April 2009 18:00:00 The error that apears for the fail is Error E00E020 - the job was scheduled to run, but the availability window closed before the job could end. After reading some forums and posts, we restarted all the servers running backup exec after the Daylight Savings as we were aware there was a glitch in the service time VS the system time. Backup Exec is running maily on dell PE 2900 servers, with Windows 2003 service Pack 1, Backup Exec is uptodate throu Live Update Is there anything else I can try or anyone can suggest? Cheers Mike Labels: Backup and Recovery Backup

It is to my understanding, that this error happens when thier is not enough resources for said job to run within the allowed time window, so it returns that error code then. We had a full system backup (2 jobs) set to run over the weekend every week for some reason this time it failed. backup exec error Now I have checked the useage of the server and no other jobs we running/using the drive at the time. There should have been no reason for a lack of resources to run the jobs. 1 job is set to run a 6pm while the other starts at 6:30. It has worked for the past 6 months just fine, so not sure why out of the blue it failed. Anyways, my question is: Is there a way I can look up in more detail, why this error was given? I've looked under job Monitor and the last thing to run was an inventory job at 3pm same day, which ended at 3:34pm. That means there's almost 2.5 hours now between job tasks, so what could have told BE that it was in use/couldn't run the job? I have noticed how ever that under the alerts tab, there has been a "LiveUpdate Information." Something about 2updates are available. I've looked up how to do this update, but what (if anything) would that change? Also, there is a "LiveUpdate Warning" for a remote agent server update. I don't think either of these has anything to do with this cause both warnings were a day after the job had already failed. Solved! Go to Solution. few minutes. Join Now I got the same error for Monday and Tuesdays backups. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I found the error on Symantec's website with a couple of solutions, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue since DST. e000e020 - The job was scheduled to run, but the availability window closed before the job could start. There may not have been any destination devices available during the window, or the job may have been submitted to run when the window was closed. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH61668 Reply Subscribe View Best Answer RELATED TOPICS: Symantec Backup Exec 2010 ? So a job I scheduled to run at 22:00 before DST would then run at 23:00 after DST until I restarted the server when it then ran at 22:00 again. If your time window for starting the job is short, ie less than 1 hour, this effect could push your start time out of the permitted window. 1 Serrano OP jbl2383 Mar 14, 2012 at 9:13 UTC My jobs are scheduled for 8pm to 4am monday through Friday. 0 Mace OP Denis Kelley Mar 14, 2012 at 9:18 UTC No hiccups here due to DST.
