Solved Error 1069- (The service did not start due backup exec to a logon failure.) but password hasnt changed Posted on 2009-09-05 Windows Server 2003 Active Directory MS SQL Server 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 1,382 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-07 Hi All, Well i keep getting the 1069 error on services on mulitple servers, on applications such as backup exec and SQL servces. These services have domain admin accounts which DO NOT get their error 1069 logon passwords changed, but when these services either havent started or have stopped and i try to start them i get the error 1069, but if i then retype the same password as its always been i can get it running. Im at a loss here, ive tried creating a new account and it seems to work at first then will not at a later time Any ideas how to solve this? 0 Question by:David Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 31 Active 5 days ago Best Solution byHenrik Johansson This is the normal behavior when having GPO configuring the user right to logon as service. Then, when I came in this morning, nothing works. My services won't load on my web app. When I try to get to Manager or my Services Directory I get the following message: "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection." When I try to start the ArcGIS Server service I get the following message: "Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure."Does anybody know what's going on here? Thanks,JustinOutcomesVisibility: ArcGIS for Server13739 ViewsLast modified on Jul 23, 2012 9:17 AMTags:serverContent tagged with serverenterprise_gisContent tagged with enterprise_gisThis content has been marked as final. After reading it and talking to our sys admin, I think that we've got an issue with group policy, and that the right to log on as a service is being revoked for the arcgis user account. I've got a ticket in with our IT department, and a ticket in with ESRI. If I come up with a solution, I'll post it here.On a side note, we discovered that if we add the arcgis user account to the administrators group, the ArcGIS Server service starts up with no problem. Unfortunately, IT won't allow us to keep the arcgis user in the administrators group. If yo
