Languages Subscribe to this Article Manage your Subscriptions Problem Scheduled jobs fail with one of the following errors: Error Message e000e020 - The job was scheduled to run, but the availability window closed before the job could start. There may not have been any destination devices available during the window, or the job may have been submitted to run when the window was closed. OR Error: e000e020 - The duration backup exec missed job that this job is allowed to remain scheduled has passed. It will be rescheduled. Verify that storage is available and check the job's schedule settings. Ensure that there is enough time for it to begin running before it is considered missed. UMI :- V-79-57344-57376 Cause A. This error occurs when a job attempts to run outside of its time window. Creating multiple jobs that queue up and then exceed the time window can create this problem. B. This error may also occur in case of Media Unavailability due to any reason. C.It may also happen becasue of the changes in the day light saving time. Solution Solution A: Increasing the backup time window for each job will help to resolve this problem. To resolve this, perform the following steps: 1. Open Backup Exec for Windows Servers.2. Click on the Job Setup tab.3. In the Job area, double-click on the job that is having this issue.4. Click on Schedule underneath Frequency.5. Click on the Run According to Schedule radio button.6. Click on the Edit Schedule Details button.7. Click on Time Window underneath General Options.8. Increase the time window in the "and no later than" field so that the job has enough time to kick off. All was fine untill the Daylight Savings event which happened in March 09 Since then we have had missed backups at weekends. We have 2 scheduled tasks to run in Backup Exec The first is a daily backup which runs Monday > Thursday - These backups areok and show in the History as being complete the odd errors with people leaving there email logged in etc, but mainly ok The second is a Weekend backup which runs on a Saturaday when all the staff are out of the building. One of our sites has not had a weekend backup since the Time change. The backup is set to run between 18:00 > 07:00 and is set to cancell if not complete within 10 Hours. However the History of the job which was set to run on Saturday 25th April shows the following Original Start Time 25th April 2009 19:00:00 Job Started 25th April 2009 18:00:00 The error that apears for the fail is Error E00E020 - the job was scheduled to run, but the availability window clo
