Connection Closed By Server With Exitcode 255
telling me much.A few days ago my host upgraded my server to a larger SSD and cloned the data to it. Just before they did that, FileZilla worked fine using SFTP. Right after the clone, it no longer works. That doesn't make much sense, because the clone changed nothing except moving the existing data connection closed by server with exitcode 128 to a larger drive. I asked my host about it, thinking something must have happened during the clone, but they told me that they could connect fine using WinSCP. I downloaded WinSCP myself and I can connect just fine with that, however I prefer FileZilla. I tried reinstalling to no avail. Here is the error, replacing the information obviously:Code:Status: Connecting to serverip...Response: fzSftp startedCommand: open "user@serverip" 22Command: Trust new Hostkey: OnceCommand: Pass: ********************Status: Connected to serveripError: Connection closed by server with exitcode 127Error: Could not connect to server Top Profile Reply with quote botg Post subject: Re: Connection closed by server with exitcode 127PostPosted: 2013-07-12 06:29 Offline Site Admin Joined: 2004-02-23 20:49 Posts: 28483 First name: Tim Last name: Kosse Try to connect with an ordinary SSH client and watch for additional prompts and messages during the login process that shouldn't be there. Server requires public key authorization, and keys are configured properly in all clients. What might be solution for this? Edit: The solution in this case was using SCP protocol. linux ssh sftp share|improve this question edited Mar http://superuser.com/questions/727540/able-to-access-the-server-with-ssh-but-not-with-sftp 11 '14 at 16:13 Martin Prikryl 5,51331741 asked Mar 11 '14 at 10:55 Vlad Pavlov migrated from stackoverflow.com Mar 11 '14 at 13:01 This question came from our site for professional and enthusiast programmers. 1 It is possible that SFTP is disabled on the server but this is unusual (at least as a default install). Do you have any logging output from your SSH and SFTP connection attempt? I can't recall having done anything to the server leading it to start closing the connection. Also I have no idea what exitcode 128 means, and can't find anything about it.
