"Connection Closed Gracefully" error. What's the fix? Solution This is probably related to your virus scanner (we've seen connection closed gracefully smtp gmail it with Norton Antivirus, for example). You might have your virus scanner set up to watch port 25, and for some reason it's disconnecting the conversation between PingPlotter and the connection closed gracefully error SMTP server. There are a few possible solutions: If your SMTP server responds on a port besides 25, try using that (2525 is a popular one). Try disabling your Antivirus software's SMTP checking. If that fixes things, see if there's a way to allow PingPlotter through. Make sure your SMTP server setup is right in Edit -> Options. Set up a

Gmail account and use that with SSL (we have instructions on that). If you have control of your SMTP server, make sure it's not blocking access by the PingPlotter computer. We've also occasionally seen this error when the SMTP server was having issues (being rebooted, shut down, or other similar problems), so if it normally works, then try again later. 24, 2009 7:32 am FTP Server error: "Connection Closed Gracefully" Quote Postby DigiAndi » Tue Mar 24, 2009 8:05 am Hello, I'm using SyncBack 3.2.19.0 to synchronize a local directory with an FTP-Server. https://www.pingman.com/kb/article/connection-closed-gracefully-error-when-testing-alerts-87.html Now, I had to change the port on which the server is running. Before it was the standard (21), now it is 8100. On the side of the "client" (the PC on which runs SyncBack) I've got a Proxy-Server. It worked well, as long as I used the standard port 21 for FTP, but now I get this error if I try to connect to the FTP: http://www.2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6003 "Failed to prepare destination: Connection Closed Gracefully." Here are the settings in detail: The settings for the proxy server worked well while using port 21 for the ftp. I also can connect to the ftp server on port 8100 through the proxy if I use a software like WS_FTP. So the proxy seems to be ok. If I try to connect via SyncBack to the ftp without the proxy between, it also works well. I hope you can help me with these problem. THANK YOU.
