Windows Server 2012 Ftp Connection Closed By Remote Host
try to access it from the same machine i get Connection closed by remote host. Any ideas as to why. Everywhere i've looked so far says it is a firewall issue. If so what is it i'm meant to do? I'm running Windows server 2008. However, IIS Manager cannot verify whether the built-in account has access bla bla bla.... I have check the application pool and it is using NetworkService, which has read and write access to the folder. Have setup Isolated users and have managed to login. However now it just hangs without displaying a list of files. I have Sysinternals Process Monitor running and that hasn['t found any errors. TCP port 21 is used on the server for the control connection, but the data connection is determined by the method that the client uses to connect to the server. However, when I use command-line FTP, I can get connected, log in (after entering http://superuser.com/questions/215775/command-line-ftp-function-does-not-work user name and password), but it always gets disconnected when the dir or ls command is used. FTP originally used two TCP channels. One was for commands, and the other for transferring data. When you run the dir command it uses a data channel. The data channel is established on demand and results in the server trying to connect back to you. That's most likely being blocked by your router or Windows firewall. You need a client that supports PASV mode. You can enable PASV mode in Internet Explorer. Or use a different client. I
