You can try to set "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" to 200 RPM in BIOS configuration. * "CPU Fan Speed Low Limit" appears only when you set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [DC Mode], [PWM Mode], and [Auto]. For those early cpu fan speed control bios versions, you need to set the CPU Q-Fan Control to [Enabled], [Advance Mode] or [Auto]. 4. I just finished my very first build and at cpu fan error asus boot I got a cpu fan error. I've got a Noctua NH-U14S for CPU cooling and it's plugged into the main CPU fan connection. The cpu fan error on boot motherboard acknowledges the existence of the CPU fan but it seems to think it's running too low (it's at 568 RPM with a CPU temperature of 32C showing BIOS). It seems the lowest RPM without warning is 600RPM. I'm a total https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1006064 noob so I'm really just clueless about if this is an actual issue or not. Is 32C for a CPU that's just showing BIOS normal? Should my CPU fan be working harder right now and keeping the CPU cooler? If this isn't an issue, I'm guessing it's all right to lower the threshold for cpu fan warning to something closer to 400-500RPM, right? If this isn't normal and it's an actual problem, what can I do about it? I mean, the fan http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1728332/cpu-fan-error-boot.html is recognized by the system and it seems to run, just a bit slower than the motherboard expects it to. Then again, I can't run any tests on it (playing games or stuff like that) at the moment since I'm waiting for my OS to be delivered. My build is the following: ASUS Z87-PRO Intel i7-4770k Kingston DDR3 HyperX Predator 8GB Noctua NH-U14S CPU Cooler EVGA GeForce GTX770 Corsair AX860 PSU Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me. As soon as you boot up, grab a temp monitoring program (CoreTemp, RealTemp, etc..) and watch it there. If things stay pretty cool (within 5c or so of your BIOS reading), you should be good to go. m 1 l Best solution geofelt a c 927 à CPUs a c 635 V Motherboard July 9, 2013 1:57:38 PM I have had the same issue. In the motherboard bios, there will be some fan control settings. One sets the rpm at which a fan warning is issued. The default is likely 600 rpm. Just lower that number to 300 rpm, and you should be good. The noctua coolers run very quiet because they do not need high rpm fans. Share

Published on Feb 14, 2014I am sharing a simple self-made video how to solve CPU fan error. In order to make this message disappear from a PC on startup you have to get into the bios settings of your computer. To get into the bios settings you have to press Del, F1 or F2 (varies according the different motherboard) while starting your computer as shown cpu fan speed in this video. After getting into the bios search for fan control settings, I have to enter into the Power tab of the bios settings on this motherboard to get into the CPU Fan speed. On this motherboard CPU fan speed is N/A by default & I have to change it to Ignored to make the message of CPU fan error disappear on startup. In some motherboard the rpm of CPU fan warning is highlighted by default at 600 rpm & if you lower the rpm to 300 rpm the CPU fan error will disappear. But do remember to save the bios setting before exit by pressing F10 as shown in this video to remove the CPU fan error warning message. Each time I boot the computer, the following error message is displayed: CPU fan error. Press F for settings The CPU fan speed varies around 500 RPM and the temperature starts at 70°F (20°C) and goes up to 80°F (27°C). I know how to get into the bios. When I press DEL I get the CPU fan error message. Then I press F1 and I get into the BIOS where I set the boot priority. Then I press EXIT, SAVE CHANGES ans RESET. But it does not boot. I keep getting back to "PRESS DEL..., etc. What modification(s) should I make to disable or bypass this alert and is it safe to do so? cpu bios computer-building fan share|improve this question edited Feb 16 '13 at 13:23 asked Feb 16 '13 at 3:03 user196797 18114 1 Electrical tape works for the "check engine" light on my car. –Daniel R Hicks Feb 16 '13 at 14:03 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 6 down vote I was getting same error message on my Maximus V Gene with Cooler Master 212 Plus CPU Cooler. This error message is diplayed when CPU fan RPM is below specified limit. For my motherboard, specified low limit was 600 RMP and CM 212 Plus Cooler fan was running at 500-550RPM. If CPU temperature is ok, then you need not to worry. If you want to turn of this error message, then goto: BIOS -> Monitor -> Fan Speed Monitor Here, you can see all fans connected to your system are being monitored. You now need to select CPU fan. Two options will popup - Monitor and Ignore. Select Ignore. Error message will not be shown thereafter. share|improve this answer answered Feb 20 '13 at 5:27 Yogesh Ralebhat 22818 does not work for me –IARI Apr 23 at 8:54 @IARI Can you specify the motherboard name and model that you are using? –Yogesh Ralebhat May 5 at 9:32 Maximus VIII Ranger - are there multiple models of tha
