Hi,I'm trying to set up frequency scaling on my Intel i5 760 as per the wiki. The only problem is I can't seem to error inserting acpi_cpufreq no such device load the acpi_cpufreq module!# modprobe acpi_cpufreq FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.39-ARCH/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko.gz): Input/output modprobe: error: could not insert 'acpi_cpufreq': no such device errorThere is no additional output in dmesg from this error.I'm running x86_64 btw, and I notice that it's trying to load an x86 module, could this have anything to do with it?Thanks! I'm having exactly the same problem with acpi-cpufreq. (eeepc 900). I tried modprobing the p4_clockmod as well, which some older posts say is required for my machine, but I got the same error. From his error message it looks like he's using the same as me, ie 2.6.39-ARCH (which seems strange since it seems to have only been released today in the ARCH repositories). Based on your hint I am going to try booting into 2.6.38 fallback and see if I can install it (my other machines on 2.6.38 have it installed).Edit - My fallback kernel is also 2.6.39. Tried modprobing anyway and got the same error. (Strange re 2.6.38/39. I Suy'd one of my other machines today, a few hours before Suy'ing this one (which resuted in new kernel install) and that other machine is still on 2.6.38.) Las

You must restart YaST to see it. Also, go into System Services (Runlevel), enable pm-profiler, start it and accept the new setup. Then, you can run YaST / System / Power Managem and select Low Latency Computing which should run your CPU at full speed. I found this generic device driver called phram that I've been trying to use to map memory and then write to and read from it but I'm having trouble mapping more than ~1.5GB. In my 16GB system, I have the OS usage constrained to 500MB at 0x0. Here are my kernel parameters: mem=500M memmap=500M@0. When I try to load the phram module with more than ~1.5GB like this: sudo modprobe phram phram=test,500Mi,15Gi I get this error message: modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'phram': Input/output error And this in dmesg: [ 247.303346] modprobe:1402 conflicting memory types 1f400000-3df400000 write-back<->write-combining [ 247.303350] reserve_memtype failed [mem 0x1f400000-0x3df3fffff], track uncached-minus, req uncached-minus [ 247.303352] ioremap reserve_memtype failed -16 [ 247.303376] phram: ioremap failed [ 247.303393] phram: `test,500Mi,15Gi' invalid for parameter `phram' I can't find any documentation on phram other than the source code. From what I have researched ioremap() (the mapping call in phram) shouldn't have a max size so I don't know where the issue could be. The dmesg output is a little too cryptic for me so if somebody could at least translate it that would also be a significant help.
