Here's my console output of the install.sh http://pastebin.com/BvhM8Wwe Here's the Xorg.8.log: http://pastebin.com/zFbvREg7 xorg.conf.nvidia: http://pastebin.com/R2TG9B3H Tried with x86-64 Debian Testing, now with Sid - got the same error. Laptop model: Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel i5, GeForce 525M GPU Owner z0rc commented Oct 15, 2011 This is interesting. It appears that official nVidia module cannot find your nVidia card. What is your output of lspci? also please check your BIOS graphics options. Maybe nVidia card in disabled there. And the last question, were you using Bumblebee or IronHide before, so you disabled your nVidia card with some acpi call, but didn't enabled it back? isness commented Oct 15, 2011 Thank You for the reply! :) No, I haven't tried debumblebee nor IronHide before. Here's the output of lspci: http://pastebin.com/2PK6M1u4 It shows two VGA compatible controllers (rev 09 and rev a1), nVidia being the second one. My laptop has no options in BIOS to enable/disable nVidia card, and from what I've read on forums, it's enabled all the time. Today I tried a clean installation of Debian unstable (as gnome-shell is now in unstable), but debumblebee resulted in almost the same error: "FATAL: Module nvidia not found" http://pastebin.com/PWfSeTT4 Oliviakrk commented Oct 15, 2011 I have the same problem. Laptop: Asus N53SN nVidia GT 550 M, Debian Wheezy BTW: Should z0rc-debumblebee-b28db26/install-files/contrib/acpi_call/src be empty?? In z0rc-debumblebee-b28db26/install-files/contrib/acpi

I installed the nvidia_current drivers (with kpackagekit) and ran nvidia_xconfig, but X did not start. The nvidia kernel module was not loaded. When I tried to manually do a modprobe nvidia, this is the error I got: FATAL: Error inserting nvidia_current (/lib/modules/2.6.32-18-generic/updates/dkms/nvidia-current.ko): No such device What am I missing?
