A serious error occurred https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh872994(v=sql.110).aspx when connecting to the provider. This error appears when trying to use the mysql odbc connection in SQL Server 7's dts. I successfully did this on another system, but on the system I am on now this error occurs. The username/password is ok, since if I put in a fake username or password it rejects that right away. However, from my experience, I've found it an incredibly annoying, buggy piece of poo. I recommend that you absolutely avoid using it under any circumstances: - It often gets things wrong - If you get some of the many parameters wrong, there is no way to go back and fix them, you must start again - It saves its stuff in binary format - There is no way to view all the parameters in one screen (or indeed, text editor form) - It often fails for no reason don't use it. The system could be in an unstable state now. Cory McHale Mar 6, 2013 11:26 AM So, this popped up error occurred when I tried to edit a VBA macro. I created the macro about a week ago, with SW 2013 SP2 on my computer. I exchanged it through Google Drive between my work PC and my home laptop. Worked fine on both machines. Today I wanted to nab some functions out of it to put in another program, and this error popped up. I always copied it out a serious error of my Google Drive to my harddrive, so I'm hoping I have a fairly recent copy on my home laptop. What am I missing here? Is there something I can do?I added the .SWP file incase anyone else wants to give it a try. Make sure you save your work first. Cory McHale Mar 6, 2013 3:13 PM (in response to Cory McHale) We still have SW 2012 on a machine here, so I gave that a try. It opened fine to edit, so I exported all the forms and modules and resaved it. Now it opened fine on my PC with 2013. I don't know why.I ran into this same error with a much more complicated program right after updating to 2013, but I assumed that was the result of poor declarations and switching to VB-7. Why it would work perfectly one day and be inaccessible the next (and forever af
