(0x80004005) up vote 2 down vote favorite 1 I error occurred am trying to print a report that contains a bar graph using the report viewer, but running into an error. My reporting server is running SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services SP3 on Windows Server 2003 SP2. Here are some steps that will reproduce the problem (at least for me)... On a clean machine, I open up the report, and it displays fine. I then click the print button, and I am prompted to install an error occurred the RSClientPrint ActiveX control. The control downloads and installs fine. I then click the print button again, and the print dialog appears. I select a printer, and click "OK". A message box appears that has the following text (including the spelling error)... An error occured during printing. (0x80004005) Any other report I try to print works fine. The only difference between this report and the other ones is that it contains a bar graph. If I remove the graph from the report, redeploy it, and then re-run it, it prints without getting that error. As far as I know, it is not isolated to a specific machine. It happens to every customer I have talked to, and a variety of machines here in the office. Has anyone seen anything like this? I have seen similar posts on the web suggesting to uninstall video drivers on the reporting server (thinking the GDI dlls have become corrupt ), install service packs, etc. I have tried every suggestion, but haven't found a good solution yet. I checked Microsoft's web site and they only reference reporting services 2000 not 2005. Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this error problem? If that fails, reboot the server, but majority of the time, restarting IIS worked. It's some kind of Microsoft phenomenon. Microsoft's technology isn't an exact science........there's a whole lot of voodoo thrown in there.Hope this helps!Micheal Post #318299 Bev DuncanBev Duncan Posted Thursday, October 26, 2006 8:14 AM Forum Newbie Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 5:43 PM Points: 3, Visits: 6 Hi Michael,Thank you for the information. Yes, I tried this many times and it will work for a report or two then the error comes right back. Hopefully Microsoft will come up with a hot fix for this problem. Thanks again!Bev Post #318330 sylwester.sikorskisylwester.sikorski Posted Thursday, July 3, 2008 4:47 AM SSC Rookie Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Wednesday, January 23, 2013 10:46 AM Points: 38, Visits: 266 Hi,I had similar problem and it turned out when i removed some rendering format.in ReportServer folder on the server check your rsreportserver.config file and in RENDER you should have:Extension Name="IMAGE" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ImageRenderer.ImageReport,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ImageRendering"if you do not add this code above and at least it worked for me...Best Reg
