The server shows the new computer name in the AD in the proper place and listed in DHCP and DNS also an error occurred during port configuration access is denied properly with the IP address of 192.168.1.30 . I can ping the server OK and I can remote thru terminal service to the client but when I try to sign in to my user admin account with the administrator credentials it says the password is incorrect and will not connect. own business, trying to add a new shared printer to a Windows 2008 Server, when all of a sudden, you get hit with this strange error message. I mean, come on, we’re just trying to configure or delete a port, right? One of my favorite sayings configure port not supported windows 10 is that the only constant is change. The first time I ran into this one, it drove configure port operation not supported windows 10 me a little batty. I’ve been configuring shared printers on TCP/IP ports for years, and never had a machine give me this error. Well, Microsoft synology network error occurred please check your dns and network settings changed this one on me. The solution is to close the Printer properties dialog, then in the “Device and Printers” window, highlight the printer you want to change, and click on “Print Server Properties” in the menu bar. Then in the https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ffd79f7f-1231-4a9a-9634-888356fa937b/connectcomputer-error-occured-when-configuring-networking-settings-see-your-network-administrator?forum=smallbusinessserver next screen, click the ports tab, and “Change Port Settings” Note: If you're using Windows 10, you may want to look at "How to Change Port Settings for Printers in Windows 10" Now you’ll have the configure port button that works. Just select your port and click “Configure Port” and you’ll have access to everything you expected. Hope that helps you out. I don’t know why they made the change, but we’ll just have to improvise, adapt, and overcome. Reply Tony says: July 16, 2015 at 00:17 Had a similar issue in 2012 R2. The solution is to not use the Control Panel app. Right click the start icon and select "Print Management" - it seems to start with admin rights and you can the delete ports etc that fail from the Control Panel Hope this helps someone out there Reply MikeScott says: July 16, 2015 at 08:56 Thanks for the feedback Tony! It looks like this method still works for Server 2012 R2 though. I tried your method, and when I right click on the start icon (orb) I don't have an "Print management" option in the menu. The server I was trying it on doesn't have any print server roles or features installed though. Reply carlos melgar says: December 1, 2015 at 20:47 Thanks!!! I almost went nuts over
