Try to save the workflow again Dynamics > CRM Question 0 Sign in to vote Hi There, Environment: mS CRM 4.0 , ROLLUP 15 when we try https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/968793 to publish workflow we receive error message as "An error occurred when the workflow was being created. Try to save the workflow again." but when i recyle the apppool it fixes the problem but comes back later. on the internet there are several posts suggesting web.config changes but https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b93a6e8c-f3eb-42bf-80f5-42f4fb30d6c7/an-error-occurred-when-the-workflow-was-being-created-try-to-save-the-workflow-again?forum=crm i can find all those entries in configfile. when i enabled trace , i could find some thing thatsays as below. It is not the same scenario as yours, but the fix was a server reboot Error800703faappears to refer to 'Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion'. Many of the references point to an intermittent permissions issue; the situation in (1) appears to have been caused by an incomplete uninstall, so a reboot fixed it CLSID{E5CB7A31-7512-11D2-89CE-0080C792E5D8}corresponds t

September error occurred 28, 2009 Here's the situation: you're using workflows in Dynamics CRM 4.0. All of a sudden your workflows are not working, and you are receiving this error: “an error occurred when the workflow was being created. try to save the workflow again”. Most CRM users/admins I encounter as the Dynamics CRM guru at Fpweb.net tell me they are going to simply save their an error occurred CRM workflow and try to publish again. Since the error message is telling them to do that… I can’t really blame them. However – I know from experience that this does not work. Luckily, I have the solution that does work. First let me say, this can be a painful and time consuming issue to research. All of the websites that I found wanted to point out that this occurs because of CRM 4.0 Update Rollup 2. This is not always the case as subsequent rollups do not always solve the issue. Sometimes the problem lies a little deeper than a simple installation of a new rollup will solve. It finally came down to running traces in CRM and noticing these logs: Error Number: 0x80045001

After more digging I discovered that there were several lines missing from the web.config. After even fu
Questions about Sage CRM Tasks not being created in a workflow- and unexpected event has occurred. This question is not answered Posted by MArnold on 29 Aug 2014 10:54 PM We have a workflow on a custom entity. Emails are sending out great. Everything works through the workflow until we added tasks. When the user moved from one stage to the next the error pops up 'An unexpected event has occured. SQL Code: 102 Exception; UnexpectedEvent.' If I log in as admin and create the task for me, the task pops up and I can save it and move to the next step. No error. But we want to create the tasks for different users in the system, not necessarily the one the custom entity is assigned to. Error message is "UnexpectedEvent" I've called Sage CRM; he couldn't find an issue reported on this. Has anyone else had this problem? How do we resolve it? Of course if it can be resolved, we would like the task to be created without a prompt to save because during some of the steps 9 or 10 tasks will be created. I'm hoping the 'hidden' attribute would work. Thank you! You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
