this error." The machine for which I had been adding the reservation had an old reservation that had been removed. I an error occurred while accessing the dhcp database look at the dhcp server event log suspected that the removal was not clean and that there were remnants preventing me from adding a new reservation. To confirm this I used netsh for DHCP: Logged into the DC and opened a command sql1036c an i/o error occurred while accessing the database prompt with elevated privileges: Typed the following commands: netsh netsh> dhcp netsh dhcp> server netsh dhcp server> scope 10.20.30.0 Changed the current scope context to 10.20.30.0 scope. netsh dhcp server scope> show reservedip This lists all the reserved ips for the scope. Found the origianl reservation for the pc that had supposedly been removed. This reservation was not showing in the GUI version but was preventing a new reservation for this mac address being added.

Join Now I've got a list of MAC addresses that I http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/dhcp-an-error-occurred-while-accessing-the-dhcp-database.556345/ need to set reservations for in our DHCP servers. All went well except with two specific MAC addresses. When I try to create the reservation for either of these devices I get the following error: "An error occurred while accessing error occurred the DHCP database. Look at the DHCP server event log for more information on this error." However, no logs are generated anywhere in Event Viewer when this error message is displayed. I have found that if I input a different IP address than what I want them to be, the reservation goes through without an issue. That suggests that the IP address is already leased. After finding this out, I then did a dump of the DHCP config using netsh and error occurred while I cannot find where the two IP addresses I want to use are already leased out. Any ideas on where I might look next? Environmentals:# of DHCP Servers: 2DHCP Server OS: Windows 2012 R2All scopes on the servers are configured for DHCP Replication between each other. Have you got any errors in the Event Viewer? It looks like the DHCP database could be corrupted; to restore it, read the kb article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/173396/en-us Hope it helps.
