Wbfs Manager Not Formatting My Drive
is grayed out like mine was. For some reason, WBFS Manager and Disk Management seem to have problems with flash drives formatted in FAT32. All I had to do was change the drive's formatting to NTFS, and you don't even have to do the disk management step this way. This is done by going into my computer, right clicking on the drive, clicking format, and then selecting the NTFS filesystem. Use default allocation size, and make sure quick format is checked or else it will take ages. Once it's done, just proceed as normal in WBFS manager and you shouldn't get an error.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forum...ORhttp://www.vistax64.com/vista-hardwar... I want to use most of it for regular files so I partitioned a seperate 100gb and everytime I try to use WBFS manager to format it I get "an error occured while attempting to format the drive". Ive used the manager to format usb sticks before and it worked perfect. The partition I'm trying to format is formatted NTFS. Ive also tried while formatted as exFAT and that didnt work either. And those are the only 2 options listed when I format the drive. I error occurred didnt see FAT32 and I was also confused because FAT32 only holds up to 4GB files and most iso's are ~4.6GB so how does that work? Id prefer to have it FAT32 so I can just drag and drop but I dont have the option to format FAT32 and dont understand how it would work anyway. EDIT: I just tried again and it took. I think I must have had the drive open in another windows which prevented it from being formatted. Thanks anyway. Delete post or lock error occurred while or w/e please. And games that don't shrink enough will be split into multiple parts, again, this happens automatically during the conversion process. And if you're using the configurable USB loader, NTFS partitions will work for loading games. The only difference is that it cant write to NTFS on it's own, so you cant use the loader to take games on and off the drive and will only be able to do that on your computer. penguin98, Apr 8, 2010 #2 cee43ja1 Regular member Joined: Sep 14, 2007 Messages: 4,135 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 46 you have to use the command box to format into FAT32 with vista/win7. open a command box and type format (drive letter): /fs:fat32 Last edited: Apr 8, 2010 cee43ja1, Apr 8, 2010 #3 larrylje Active member Joined: Jan 4, 2005 Messages: 12,506 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 96 There are also 3rd party applications out there that use a GUI to format your drives to FAT32 (if you don't like command prompt lines). You can find a link to one of those applications in my CFG USB LOADER (FAT32) GUIDE link in my sig. As for games that are over 4G
