Check http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/itunes-radio-an-error-occurred-while-contacting-the-radio-tuning-service.1318723/ your Internet connection, or try again later. Hi Guys - I have a weird problem with iTunes and the Apple Remote app for iOS. Here are the details. Without an Internet connection I connect my iPhone directly to my MacBook Pro via an AdHoc computer to computer wireless network. I can connect just fine. The problem: As soon as I launch the Remote app and connect to the iTunes library running on the MacBook Pro I http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/itunes-error-error-occurred-while-contacting-radio-tuning-service-check-your-internet-connection-or-try-again-later-12703/ receive the following message "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later." See the screenshot for a visual illustration. Here is what I believe is happening: As soon as the Remote app connects to a library iTunes automatically attempts to connect to the Internet and retrieve updated information about the Internet radio stations and categories it offers. Users can see in the attachment iTunes says, "Contacting tuning service ... Refreshing Category List". Because there is no Internet connection this attempt fails and produces the error message several times over and over after the user clicks OK. Here is what I've tried as a remedy: Disable Radio from within Parental controls - Didn't help Removed the Remote App and reinstalled - Didn't help Forget all remotes within iTunes - Didn't help These guys have the issue as well but some have been remedied by the above items. https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0 I'd love some help from the resident experts. To reproduce the error create an AdHoc network with your Mac, join the AdHoc network with an iOS device. Connect to the iTunes library via the Remote App. Thanks Guys! For the last week or so whenever I go to the radio stations and click on a category I receive a message that states: "An error occurred while error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later". My internet connection is fine as I am able to get online and access everything as usual, just cannot get into the stations themselves. I have tried on numerous occasions but get the same result. Every now and then one or more of the categories will open and allow me to access the stations, however usually it is not the category that I want to access, such as the news stations, which will not open. I have tried this on my G5 desktop, both of my G4 powerbooks, my white G3 iBook, my older G3 Pismo, and get the same results regardless of running Leopard, Tiger, or Panther. I do not own an Intel Mac and am hopeful that is not the issue, although I don't believe it is. Has anyone else had this problem? Does it have anything to do with my living overseas? (I wouldn't think so but I am at a loss here). Is it possible Apple is making changes to the stations causing this? As I said this has been happening for a week now. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Reply With Quote 02-29-2012,12:41 PM #2 dobby View Profile View Forum Posts Member

Hoping someone can help! On my Windows 7 machine with a good internet connection, I get the following error when I try to connect to iTunes radio: "Contacting tuning service. Refreshing Category List" this is unsuccessful, next: "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service Check your internet connection or try again later." I CAN listen to existing radio stations that I have saved in a Playlist and added manually to iTunes. But I can't access the Apple iTunes Radio service...
