Solved SBS error occurred 2003: Upgrading to R2, Cannot Remove/Reinstall the Administration Component Posted on 2008-06-02 SBS Server Hardware Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 11 Comments 429 Views Last Modified: 2009-01-30 Hello, I am trying to upgrade a R1 server to R2. It has SP2 and the Latest Updates but I am running into a rather fun error. error occurred while It tells me to install the Server Tool:Administration before continuing. KNowing I already had I checked the Server Setup from the add remove programs pane. It is greyed out and the only option is to remove (Shows Version 5) . So I figure I should reinstall it. It fails and says: "An error occurred while copying files for the Administration component. See C:\Program Files\Microsoft Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003\Logs\SBSMSI-8952E993-139E-4E71-881F-DD40E4DB8F81.LOG for the list of files that were not copied. You may want to run Setup again and reinstall the component." So I grab the log and dont see anything to exciting: I tried reinstalling all of the server tools but its still giving the same error. Any ideas?
