Make sure SQL Server 2005 backward compatibility components was installed.2. Make sure the following VB script can be run correctly. If no, resolve the script issue first with MSFT (you should get same error as SMSQL):'script starts here… Set oServer = CreateObject("SQLDMO.SQLServer2") Set InstanceList = oServer.ListInstalledInstanceswscript.echo "Total installed instances : " & InstanceList.Countwscript.echo "========================================="For i=1 To InstanceList.Count wscript.echo InstanceList.Item(i)Next Set app = oServer.Applicationset serverlist = app.ListAvailableSQLServerswscript.echo "Total instances on network : " & serverlist.Countwscript.e

If "SERVER1" is a remote server, try changing the firewall settings in the operating system to http://community.netapp.com/t5/Data-ONTAP-Discussions/Error-CLSID-snapmanager/td-p/16042 allow the enumeration. The exception details are: Unknown error(0x80005000) I see from theAdd/Remove Windows Components (Windows components wizard) that the Application Server is not checked and hit on details for it i even don't see IIS checked will that be a problem any thoughts on how to over come please... Thanks in advance... In this issue, the error might occur due to the conflicts between administration settings and remote server configuration. To work around this error, I suggest that you add TCP port 135 and inetinfo.exe to the list of exceptions for the Windows Firewall. For more information, please see: Add a Port to the Exceptions List for a Specific ConnectionWindows Firewall Settings: Remote Administration Tools Hope this helps.
