When I go to view the designer I get: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Error loading workflow An error occurred while loading the workflow. Please correct the following error and try relating the document to view the workflow. The type initializer for 'Company.Namespace.CustomActivity' threw an exception. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last line is in a 'link' that does nothing when you click on it. I am trying to fix a production bug, but this is making very difficult to do since I can't see the designer or debug it (the same error occurs if I try to attach debugger). So far I have tried: Rebuild 'Clean Solution' Unloading and reloading project/solution Cussing None of this has worked. Another place where this shows up in is the following scenarion:1) You have a custom activity validator2) During compilation, http://pavkul.blogspot.com/2007/07/error-loading-workflow-runtime.html you get the above mentioned errors.Workaround: Close all the windows (especially the design windows) and compile again. As an addition to Abhishek's suggestion about closing all windows, I had to close all windows and both instances of Visual Studio I had running at the time. Then, I only opened one instance of Visual Studio 2010 and rebuilt the solution. Then everything worked like a dream. Thanks guys for getting me going again.
