Solved Offline Address Bood Issues https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/243155 in Exchange 2010 Posted on 2010-12-08 Exchange 3 Verified Solutions 6 Comments 2,278 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-10 We installed exchanged 2010 and coexisting with exchange 2003. 2010 users not able to download offline address book. I already configuration replication with exchange 2003. But exchange 2010 does not show as a Generation Server, only the exchange 2003 https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26667364/Offline-Address-Bood-Issues-in-Exchange-2010.html server listed as a Generation Server. I check the OAB folder under the CAS server and that folder is empty. Configured URL in Offline Address Book Distribution in CAS server. Outlook error: An error occurred while opening the Microsoft Exchange offline address book files. See your administrator. 0 Question by:Wind526 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 13 Best Solution bylastlostlast Refer to http://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/upgrade-exchange-2003-to-exchange-2010---part-ii/ Once you follow the steps mentioned in the above article, make sure 'Web Distribution' is enabled Go to Solution 6 Comments LVL 13 Overall: Level 13 Exchange 13 Message Accepted Solution by:lastlostlast2010-12-08 Refer to http://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/upgrade-exchange-2003-to-exchange-2010---part-ii/ Once you follow the steps mentioned in the above article, make sure 'Web Distribution' is enabled on the OAB. At last, when you are sure that you have made the above changes, restart the following services: 1. Background intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2. MS Exchange File Distribution Service. This should most probably help you fix the issue. Let us know how it goes. 0 Message Author Comment by:Wind5262010-1
to Download in Exchange 2010 by Nathan Lasnoski I ran into an interesting issue where the Exchange http://www.concurrency.com/blog/w/offline-address-book-fails-to-download-in-exchange 2010 OAB failed to download to Outlook 2010, 2007, and http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800422511/mpage_3/tm.htm 2003 clients. This started after configuring Outlook Web Access redirection using the IIS HTTP redirect capability (sending "/" to "/OWA"). In testing the issue, I attempted to browse to the OAB xml file manually through my web browser. I noticed that I error occurred received a HTTP 500 internal server error instead of receiving the OAB xml output. I found that this was caused by the configuration of the redirect changing the security permissions on the web.config file within the OAB virtual directory. To fix the problem, browse to the OAB virtual directory and re-add error occurred while the authenticated users group to "read" and "read and execute" permissions on the web.config file. Here are the corrected permissions: I hope this helps everyone out! But I figured I'd share my experience. I had the same issue. It's related to the Public Folder not existing. I first had issue with the public folder not mounting.
