I view the properties for the server, under Updates, the Update Status shows "An error occurred while retrieving update information." Under Software Update Settings --> Included Computers, the server doesn't appear there either. I found a couple ofarticlesfrom a Google Search that mentioned re-registering WUAUENG.DLL, and I did that, but error occurred while retrieving policy for this computer 4005 it didn't change anything. The server is in the correct AD container, and restarting the Windows SBS Manager service didn't help either. updating since the servers recent migration, It was discovered when I was an error occurred while retrieving the workflow task details on the SBS Console and the updates weren't listed (as shown below) . Double clicking on a PC an error occurred while retrieving the workflow task details sharepoint 2010 with “update status” unknown, showed me this. I proceeded to check all machines on the console to see if they had the same issue, a few did which all https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/9b9a42ca-a0ce-4aca-b64d-f354c75b974c/sbs-2011-server-update-status-shows-an-error-occurred-while-retrieving-update-information?forum=smallbusinessserver were XP. I proceeded to check that all services were running as previously set up in my blog post “Client Services that should be running on a SBS 2011 Domain”, The services that should be running are: Background Intelligent Transfer Service Windows Update Security Center Event Log All services were running however it was still not updating, so I eventually http://blog.the-it-blog.co.uk/2012/05/04/sbs-2011-an-error-occurred-while-retrieving-update-information/ turned to Google and was able to hunt down this link to a blog “SBS and Beyond”, Which basically details to run this command in the start run. %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG.DLL And it worked successfully for me after I restarted the PC and refreshed the view on the SBS, although I don't think a restart of the client PC is needed, I was able to and thought it would be possible. When the PC is up you may want to run the windows update option to check straight away if it has worked (it did for me automatically I just want to give the option). Detect now Option Because waiting for detection to start can be a time-consuming process, an option has been added to allow you to initiate detection right away. On one of the computers with the new Automatic Update client installed, run the following command at the command prompt: wuauclt.exe /detectnow Source Hope it helps Update, Ive ran into some errors during the rest of the XP machines, heres what Ive followed (see be

I would be delighted to help find a solution to your update error. If the issue keeps happening, and you are running the most recent version of the program. There are a couple steps we can try. The first and simplest, Restart the computer. If that does not work, you may need to save a error occurred while copy of the return you are working on, then uninstall the program and reinstall. This issue sometimes occurs with the update, not downloading and installing properly on your computer. I hope these steps help resolve the issue.Have a Great Day and thanks for contacting TurboTax.-Johnathan Was this answer helpful?
