firewall is set up correctly as it was set up for my old version of WHS and worked fine. I can remotely access the system, but I cannot do remote desktop because I do not have a cert. Unfortunately, a cert from godaddy is $50/year, so I decided to just get a Microsoft domain name. I created a new Windows Live ID an error occurred while setting scanner properties (hotmail ID does not work), and replied from the email stating it was really me. For the last several hours I have been trying to get a Microsoft domain name, but I get the same error every time, "An error occurred while setting up your domain name. The domain name was not set up for your server. Wait a few minutes and run the wizard again. An unexpected or unknown problem occurred. Please wait a few minutes, and then try again." I get this over an over for several hours. An older post said that this issue was fixed, but obviously not. Does anyone know how to either fix this problem, or, provide a cert that does not cost $50 a year? Any help would be appreciated! Unfortunately, I made two separate changes at the same time, so I have no idea which one fixed this issue. Please let me know if this

I was able to use my shorter GoDaddy domain name to connect via remote access although I could also connect using the longer Microsoft name. This was working well. Now, after building a new server to run WHS 2011 RTM, I cannot set up a domain name. My router (a DLink DIR-855) sets up without any issues. http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?/topic/18559-cannot-set-up-domain-name/ Howver, when I try to set up a domain name from the WHS 2011 dashboard using "Server settings", "Remote Web Access", "Domain name", "Set up", this is what happens: 1. Click "Setup". 2. Click "Next" on "Set Up Your Domain Name" screen. 3. Select "I want to use a domain name I already own" radio button, enter my Microsoft WHS domain name that I used for WHS v1, and click "Next". 4. On the "Sign in to Windows Live" screen, I entered my Windows Live credentials and click "Next". 5. Get error message that "The user name or password is incorrect. Retype your user name and password. I am 100% certain that my Windows Live credentials are correct. I can go directly to Windows Live and log in with these credentials with no problem, just NOT through the "Remote Web Access" setup screens. I have tried this procedure many times directly on the WHS 2011 box and from at least two different client computers with the same result. If I try to use my GoDaddy-registered domain name, then after step 3 above, I get the "Update information on GoDaddy.com" screen. The "Next" button does not become active until you click the "Go to GoDaddy.com" button. So I click on the "GoDaddy" button to go to GoDaddy's website to the "Purchase SSL Certificate" screen. The first time this happen
