I had a similar problem after deleting some songs without using the iTunes interface. I think the only way to fix it was to create a new iTunes library. I've also seen something similar when ripping to an external drive routed through a http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/error-occurred-importing-to-itunes.277151/ USB hub. Something about the hub was causing a problem. Everything was fine when I connected the drive directly to a USB port. curbach, Feb 17, 2012 #2 Sandinista Formerly hightower68 Thread Starter Location: Near a beach, Florida No, no mucking. I always use the iTunes interface. Sandinista, Feb 17, 2012 #3 Sandinista Formerly hightower68 Thread Starter Location: Near a beach, Florida Impatient - called iTunes - problem solved. Location: Hollywood, USA You "called iTunes"? I call it a piece of crap all the time, but rarely get it to respond. And Apple's no help, either. Usually, the "!" error sign indicates the database is corrupt, a file got moved, or the destination directory was set up wrong in the user config. If it's only one file, it's not a big deal. God help you when it's thousands of files. (Though this is easier fixed today than it used to be.) Vidiot, Feb 18, 2012 #6 stereoptic
won't import all music Discussion in 'Software' started by CDieck, Aug 24, 2008. CDieck Private E-2 I am trying to add files to my itunes library. I have a particular folder http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/itunes-wont-import-all-music.167924/ with 11 songs in it, and itunes happily adds songs 1-8, but for NO APPARENT REASON whatsoever, it won't add songs 9-11. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?! I have tried "file->add file to library" and clicked on http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/32788/how-can-i-move-photos-from-iphone-to-my-local-disk the files. Nothing happens. I've tried opening the folder and dragging the file into itunes. Nothing happens. I've tried double clicking on the file. Nothing happens. I've tried deleting the files off of my computer, reloading error occurred them, and trying all over again. Nothing happens. And I mean nothing at all. No dialogue box comes up to explain why it won't load. No error message pops up. NOTHING. I've scanned the files for viruses. They don't have any viruses. When I open the "properties" box, the file looks like any other .m4a file. There doesn't appear to be anything abnormal about these files at all. I have nearly 4GB of photos and videos on my phone, and I want to put them into my computer's pictures folder. I have opened Windows Explorer and found the photos in the weird location Computer\Torbens iPhone 4\Internal Storage\DCIM\800AAAAA, but I cannot copy or move the files from here to a local folder. When I try, Windows says "Error copying file or folder. The parameter is incorrect." I have synced with iTunes but don't see where iTunes would have made a backup copy of the photos. This is immensely frustrating. I can't believe it has to be this difficult and I must be missing something, but I don't see what that is. 1) How do I get my pictures off the phone and onto my local disk? Also, it would be so much simpler if Windows would just assign a drive letter to the device, just like it does for my digital camera and any other USB storage I connect. Is there any way to make Windows do this, or is Apple being restrictive again? 2) How can I get a drive letter assigned to the phone? (Less important but mighty annoying.) Details: iPhone4, iOS 4.1.2, iTunes 10.5.1.42, Windows 7.
