I know Final Cut allows in/out points prior to importing, but I can't seem to find that information for iMovie. Also, this occurs for every clip on all 4 of my cameras. It wasn't clear from your original post how often this issue occurred, as you say since it appears to be a problem with every clip, it isn't likely to be a single clip or two that is causing a problem.
